The diversion layer is also called ADL (acquisition distribution layer, that is, liquid capture/diffusion layer), and the materials commonly used at present are non-woven products. Based on this, this article briefly introduces ADL non woven.

1. ADL non woven material

The material of the diversion layer should have low density, porosity and stable spatial structure, which can ensure that the original shape and more voids can be maintained after absorbing liquid, and it has the performance of anti-rewetting. At present, non-woven fabric products are widely used as materials, including air-through, spunbond, hot-rolled and other non-woven fabrics, which have been well used in domestic and foreign markets. Among them, the price of hot-air cloth is relatively high, but compared with other non-woven fabrics, the thickness of hot-air cloth is 3-5 times that of hot-rolled and spun-bonded cloth with the same ration, and it has a good spatial structure and large gaps between fibers. , can temporarily store liquid more than 10 times its own mass, and has excellent anti-rewet performance. It is mainly used in high-end diversion layer products, and it is also the mainstream of the current domestic diversion layer material market.

2. Production method of hot air non woven fabric

The production method of hot-air nonwovens is a kind of thermal bonding method. The short fibers are combed into a web by drying in an oven or a dryer. The hot-melt fibers in the fiber web are heated and melted, and the melt flows and condenses on the fibers. At the intersection point, the purpose of bonding the main fibers is achieved. The fiber net structure of the product is stable, soft to the touch, good in elasticity, and there are no three wastes in the production process. The products are widely used in sanitary products, filter materials, etc., and have great potential for development. The hot-air nonwoven fabric is produced by bi-component composite fibers with a skin-core structure. The low-melting point polyethylene (PE) is used as the skin layer, and the high-melting point polypropylene (PP) or polyester (PET) is used as the core layer. The PE of the cortex of the net is softened and melted during thermal bonding, and gathers at the intersection of fibers to act as a binder, and forms a firm bond after cooling. For example, the more common skin-core type PP/PE two-component composite fiber (ES fiber), the melting point of the skin layer PE is 125-135 ° C, and the melting point of the core layer PP is 165 ~ 170 ~ C. In the hot air process, the temperature is set at 130-130 ° C. Between 165°C, a well-formed nonwoven fabric can be formed.

It can be seen from the electron micrographs of the hot-air nonwoven fabric that the low-melting point components form melt adhesion at the intersection points of the fibers, while the fibers at the non-intersection points remain in their original state. This is a form of "point bonding" rather than "area bonding", so the product has bulkiness, softness and high elasticity. The hot air nonwoven guide layer adjusts the aspect ratio of the fibers during the production process, so that the longitudinal arrangement of the fibers is much more than the transverse arrangement, so as to achieve the effect of longitudinal liquid conduction.

At present, the diversion layer has been more and more commonly used in absorbent products, especially in diaper products, and has become the fourth important functional layer of absorbent products. Understanding ADL non woven will help people to better purchase and use related hygiene products.
