Spunbond non woven material technology is one of the main process methods in the production of non-woven fabrics, and it is also the fastest-growing and most technical non-woven technology. It should be said that the spunbond non woven material technology is a one-step fabric-forming technology inspired by mulberry silk spinning and spider weaving. But its development is based on the development of modern chemical fiber industry. Therefore, spunbond technology is considered to be an extension of chemical fiber production technology, and a successful example of the close combination of chemical fiber technology and nonwoven technology.
In the early 1940s, researchers from the American Viscose Fiber Company had experimented with laying fibers directly on the screen to form a fiber web, and an experimental factory had been built. A small melt extruder developed by the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory in the early 1950s can melt the polymer and extrude it into very fine filament fibers from a very fine spinneret hole, and then blow it to the mesh with hot air. On the curtain, the fibers can bond themselves into a network, which is the prototype of modern spinning technology. None of these studies could be continued because the relevant technology at the time did not reach the required level. With the maturity and development of chemical fiber production technology, in the late 1950s, the German Freudenberg Company and the American Dupont Company began to carry out industrial research on the spunbond process. In the mid-1960s, they almost simultaneously produced spunbond non woven material. However, because the technology was not perfect at that time, due to high production costs, large investment and no bulk use, the technology could not be quickly popularized and applied. It was not until the late 1960s and early 1970s that the development of spunbond technology was promoted due to the large-scale application of women's sanitary napkin covering materials, carpet base fabrics and geotextiles.
At the same time, due to the advantages of spunbond non woven material in terms of strength, chemical resistance and production and operation cost, its application in medical and health, furniture decoration, environmental protection filtration, agriculture, geotechnical construction and packaging materials has been rapidly expanded.
