Non woven fabrics have been widely used in various fields of social life due to their advantages such as short process flow, large output, high efficiency, low cost and good product performance. With the development of its technology, the further improvement of product performance and the reduction of production costs, as well as the improvement of consumers' living standards and the enhancement of hygiene awareness, its application in the field of hygiene also has a broad space for development. SMMS non-woven fabrics came into being. In this paper, a fluorine-containing finishing agent was prepared, and the water-repellent finishing was carried out by a roll-baking process, and the factors affecting the performance of water proof smms non woven fabric were explained.
Water-repellent finishing is to coat a layer of low surface energy material on the surface of non-woven fabrics, which not only prevents the passage of liquid water, but also maintains a certain air permeability and moisture permeability. When the dosage of the finishing agent reaches a certain value, a film with a surface energy lower than that of water will be formed on the surface of the non-woven fabric, which effectively prevents the wetting of the surface of the non-woven fabric by water. Through experiments, it can be found that when the amount of finishing agent is 5 g/L, the water repellency level of SMMS non-woven fabric reaches level 10, and the water repellency performance of SMMS non-woven fabrics does not change significantly if the amount of finishing agent continues to increase.
Through experiments, it can be obtained that when the baking temperature is 120 degrees Celsius, the water repellency level of SMMS non-woven fabrics reaches the highest level, and the water repellency level remains unchanged when the temperature continues to increase. In addition, when the baking temperature exceeds 140°C, the non-woven fabric will turn yellow and even deform. From this, it can be clarified that a certain baking temperature can make the finishing agent form a more stable and firm structure on the fiber surface, so that it has better water-repellent performance. However, considering the upper limit of heating of the non-woven fabric itself, when it is water-repellent, high temperature cannot be blindly pursued.
Through experiments, it can be obtained: when the baking time reaches 90 seconds, the level of water proof smms non woven fabric reaches the highest level. Continue to prolong the baking time, the water repellency level remains unchanged. Therefore, a reasonable baking time can promote the full combination of the fiber and the finishing agent, so as to achieve a better water-repellent effect.
At present, spunmelt nonwovens are widely used in many fields such as medical treatment, hygiene, protection, packaging, filtration, construction and agriculture. In this paper, a fluorine-containing finishing agent was prepared, and the SMMS non-woven fabric was treated with water-repellent finishing by one dip and one rolling process, which provided a certain reference for the further development of water proof smms non woven fabric.
