How Breathability Works
Although it looks like a plastic film, this backsheet is a breathable micro-porous film. The micropore structure is the most critical element: water droplets have a minimum diameter of 20 µm, while water vapor molecules measure about 0.0004 µm. With micropores sized in between, the film allows vapor to escape while remaining impermeable to liquid water—keeping the wearer drier and more comfortable.
